1.To hold education and teaching to field high quality of human resources academically and professionally wich has personal integrity as Muslim scholar.
2.To perform research and study to develops science, technology and art by using Islamic paradigm.

The Characteristics of State Islamic Uni-versity of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau are as follows:
1.Development of scientific paradigm that emphasizes on belief and Tawhid (belief affection).
2.Improvement of different scientific bran-ches through religious approach so that Islamic values become spirit of each branch by implementing principles of Islam in scientific disciplines as a real effort for realization of integration between Islam and sciences.
3.Performing several scientific disciplines to reach competency standard of Islamic knowledge that enforces the domain of aqidah, ‘ibadah, mu’amalah, and moral.
4.Establishment and development of civilized environment according to the Islamic values.
